commonly seen in childhood and may occur in later stages of life.

Eczema typically shows as patches of dry, scaly and itchy skin. It can be controlled through medication and by avoiding environmental conditions that may trigger flare ups.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is an autoimmune disease that affects about 2% of the population. It causes itchy, raised, red, scaly patches to appear on the skin which is caused by the rapid production of skins cells. It typically affects the skin on the elbows, knees, scalp, and can affect the nails and joints. Psoriasis is associated with other serious health conditions, such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, and depression.

There is no cure for the disease however it can be successfully managed.

Hair Loss

Hair loss affects both men and women and can cause significant emotional distress. Both men and women tend to lose hair thickness and amount of hair as they age.

There are many causes of hair loss which include androgenetic Alopecia, due to underlying medical conditions (such as Thyroid disease), and medications (such as chemotherapy).  Other causes of hair loss are stress, trauma, and autoimmune disorders.

There are several treatment options that can treat specific hair loss conditions. Treatment success is dependent on the cause of hair loss.

Melasma

Melasma causes brown to gray-brown patches on the skin usually affecting the face. It also occurs on the cheeks, bridge of their nose, forehead, chin, and above the upper lip. It also can appear on other parts of the body that get lots of sun, such as the forearms and neck. Melasma mainly affects darker-skinned people and affects women more than men.

There are several treatment options available including sun protection and medication. A good treatment outcome is possible with proper dermatological care.
